The app works great. But it doesn't resize when you resize the window. I'm not a programmer so I have no idea why this would be but since I have a very large screen it would be nice it resized

I have downloaded the program and plan to use it, provided that someone can assure me of one thing.

Currently, my iPod is full of songs, and due to tragedy, my iTunes library is totally devoid of them. Were I to plug my iPod into the computer, as would be necessary for copying the songs over, I expect that iTunes would immediately connect to the iPod and delete every song therein, in order to match the iPod's library with its own.

Is there some way to prevent this from happening, or does iPod Browser take care of this issue?
Thanks for any help.

I can't remember exactly what the key combo is, but I think it's command-option until your iPod mounts. Check in Keyboard Commands under Help in iTunes.

can you not change your itunes to add songs manually, that's how i do it. my library has more songs than my ipod.

The transfer songs manually option will do this. You'll find it under "Edit" and then "Preferences"

Hi,
This sounds like an excellent app.
I was wondering if this program will transfer playlists as well as songs from an ipod to a mac?
Had a major itunes crash, and lost a years worth of mixes :(

thanks

Sorry, but no. Currently iPod Browser is only for copying MP3s and editing the ID3 tags. I do like the idea though, and I will see about adding that as a feature in the new version that I am working on (if I can find the time to work on it some more).

Nice, simple app. No frills (a search field would be nice) just meat and potatoes. Best freeware yet.

I am working on updates for this program, and several people have asked for a search field. That is something that I am working on right now! Hopefully I will be able to finish soon, but this doesnt pay the bills so I gotta work before I play. Cheers!

I am formally a PC user who has now been convinced to turn to Mac. However, my iPod is formatted to Windows. Will this program still allow me to browse my iPod to rip of the mp3s into iTunes?

I think it works on any iPod format

but if it doesn't work, you can also formate it to Mac version, on your Macintosh computer, if you wish.

If your iPod shows up on your Macintosh desktop without reformatting it, this app should work just fine, but I am pretty sure that you will have to format the iPod for the Macintosh platform since data is stored, read, and written differently on Windows. Another idea would be to copy all the files from your iPod on a PC using the pc version of iPod Browser, copying them to the mac, and then formatting the iPod for Mac use. If you want to try the PC version email me and let me know. I have a few beta testers since I don't have a PC formatted iPod.

Unix, Linux, and BSD support fat filesystems, I believe the ipod for windows uses fat32. If Os X does not support fat32 by default, there are sure to be drivers to make it support fat32, just search google for "fat32 os-x drivers" if it does not mount like the developper stated.

i am also a pc-turned-mac lover, with an itunes library on my pc that i would rather not rebuild on my mac. i am also not a computer wiz, and so i need a little help. i am getting an ipod mini and an ibook. right now, i have a pc and itunes downloaded on the pc. i am pretty sure there is no way to put all of my itunes songs on my ipod mini and then transferring the songs on my ipod mini (configured to windows) to my new mac easily. but i am completely clueless as to how to transfer my itunes songs and information from my pc to my mac. i am a computer idiot, and i was just wondering if someone could help me with their expertise.

I have a 40gig ipod that I first used and loaded up from a windows pc. I am travelling the world at the moment and i've met a couple of people with ibooks. I have used either this, or similer software to copy tunes from my ipod to their ibook and my ipod still says its a windows configured ipod in the about menu.

No damage has been done to the ipod. Although it has screwed itself up since then after running out of battery power while plugged into a pc. Note when being used as an external hard drive via the usb port always use the firewire cable to charge the ipod from the charger as it gets through a completely full battery in about 5 to 10 minutes flat and leaves the ipod unable to accept any new tunes without being totally reformatted.

I clicked on More Info and downloaded it there instead. That file seems to have no errors in it at all, and I LOVE THIS APP! It is easy to use, and even access my aiff files! It is free to! Keep up the great work! Although I would like to see an option to disable the drawer if I want. :) :) :)

Jon - If you use Stuffit Expander to unstuff it you will get an error, but the app still works. If you use Stuffit Delux to unstuff it you get NO errors at all.
