The Webalizer is a fast, free web server log file analysis program. It produces highly detailed, easily configurable usage reports in HTML format, for viewing with a standard web browser.
Great program! Works on any version of Unix including Mac OS X (binary version available with optional installer). However, I just installed it by hand. Actually, "installing" isn't strictly necessary - you can just run it directly, however I copied mine to /usr/local/bin.
Very customizable with the webalizer.conf file - I have managed to set it up so I have several different sets of graphs displayed for the same access_log - each in a separate folder with a separate webalizer.conf file to control them.
Make sure you set up Apache correctly so it outputs the combined log format - that will give you way more information (like what browsers people use, etc.) than the default log format. It's not hard to do.
Nice to see programs like this for the Mac as well as other more traditional platforms. It's also great that it's free and *so FAST*!
[Version 2.01-10]
