Some of you may remember the Torgo AfterDark module. I've been wanting to make a version for use in Mac OS X, and at this point I've finally done it! There are a few extra options compared to the old AfterDark version, but it's the same Module at it's core!

What's New

Version 2.1:

Updated to be Universal Binary.
Fixed a couple of minor bugs & updated the options interface.

Wonderful comment and 'review' Mr 'Anon'.
Precisely what one would expect to say if one had never seen MST3K!
In the episode Manos, Hands of Fate the unbelievably unconvincing Torgo character is a superb and is ripped mercilessly by Joel and the 'Bots.
Great stuff. Rock on Bobby!

This has to be the worst screensaver that I have ever downloaded. For one, I have read up about the film in which the character "Torgo" Stars, and found it out to be reviewed as THE WORST FILM EVER. officially from the IMDB website. Plus, most of the cast commited suicide after making it.

What a depressin piece of cyber rubbish...

Congratulations on entirely missing the joke. Why anyone who has never heard of Torgo would go to the trouble of downloading a Torgo screensaver is slightly beyond me. It's a shame your research didn't lead you from the worst movie ever to one of the best episodes of MST3K ever or you might have started to catch on.

I don't know if that's true the cast committed suicide, but if they did that just makes this saver all the funnier. Sad, but funny.

Would it be missing the point to wish for some environments for Torgo to walk through? Like some kind of Scooby-Doo swirling psychedelic tube background? I think he'd enjoy that.

Hah! Wonderfully funny. There are few occassions during my lifetime when I have laughed involuntarily. Seeing Torgo for the first time, I did!
Seeing it again, and again, it continues to provide joy in every respect (and I don't have a Mom to complain about the Theme). Terrific stuff Bobby!

Why doesn't MacUpdate have a "report this review" feature to get rid of bad reviews by people who obviously don't understand what the product is.

Anonymous down there gave this great screen saver a low review obviously oblivious to the point of the screen saver.

Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups I suppose.

Imagine how unreliable the rating system on MU is when you take into account how many unreliable reviews there are. It really undermines the integrity of MU, I hope they add a "Report this Review" feature to restore customer confidence in their website.

MacUpdate does. It's at the bottom of every reviews page on the site. It goes like this:

"Please contact MacUpdate politely if you wish for a comment to be reviewed by MacUpdate for removal."

This is the greatest screensaver EVER. I used to drive my mom nuts with it...the haunting tones of Torgo's theme repeating ad infinitum...ah, is there any sweeter song?

It's a pity I can't give it a 5 for stability, but with those knees you just know Torgo's gonna drop your pizza eventually. 8^)

Torgo is a character in Manos: The Hands of Fate, a film lampooned by Mystery Science Theater 3000. I'm not sure I should have to point this out, as the developer links to his own Torgo shrine. But, for the sake of those too busy to read info pages but who nevertheless have time to complain about things they don't understand, don't worry -- the screensaver is, in fact, awesome.
