Wrapper or not: It really does not matter from the user perspective, as almost all Mac OS features are available.

Cool, but BSD offers five other checksum methods. What did you do? Wrap the command line program?

Check this instead - it's all code, no wrap.

It's free software:
It's name is md5drop,
so the program shows the md5 sum and no other checksums.
