Unreal Tournament 2004 demo is a 3D, first person action game. This demo includes 5 maps (AS-Convoy, ONS-Torlan, DM-Rankin, CTF-BridgeOfFate, BR-Colossus), 6 game modes (Assault, Onslaught, Deathmatch, Capture The Flag, Team Deathmatch, Bombing Run).
UT2004 takes gladiator combat to a new level with the addition of land and air vehicles, an arsenal of new weaponry (including mines, rocket-propelled grenades and stationary gun turrets), daunting new arenas, epic battlefields and the challenge of the Assault and Onslaught game types.
What's New
Version 3369-2:
There are some fixes, but the biggest changes are the presence of Universal Binaries and the inclusion of the Epic Mega Pack.
Requirements
PPC / Intel
PowerPC G4+.
Mac OS X 10.2.8 or later.
32MB video card, (Updater requires the retail release 3369 Updater installed first).
Unreal Tournament 2004 will remind you how satisfying explosive, extremely fast action gaming can be. The smooth engine and core gameplay inherited from Unreal make a great foundation, and the onslaught and assault modes take the whole package up another notch. And, to help you come to grips with a multiplayer world increasingly focused on teamplay, the voice chat features can make any team game better by facilitating real tactical coordination. Then, just when (or if) you start to tire of all the official maps (and combinations of maps with the library of preset mutators), there are community tools to make creating and installing custom content as straightforward as possible. No other multiplayer-focused action game has this much to offer.
Well, it is March 3rd and I just downloaded this puppy in less then 5 minutes. When everyone is trying to download the same thing at the same time, rates drop... "perfectly normal, perfectly healty". :-)
Talk about a slow download.. In a word - pathetic.
I'm using a fast ADSL line, and I'm informed that its going to take 13 hours to complete this download..
Something seriously screwed with their server. I don't see any alternative site to use, and no mirror sites either. Kind of dumb I would say, considering there must be a huge volume of download in progress
Is this for real, or just a slap in the face of us Mac users. According to the download time, it's going to take 13 days to download. I have a 6.5Mbit link (download) bandwidth to the net. Aparently they have only one server running it out to the thousands of people trying to get it...
Launched it on Intel Mac 20" 2GHz (2Gb RAM and 256Mb Video RAM) - the game works absolutely great at highest resolution possible with highest settings everything! Fantastic..

Those of you who are seeing UT04 quit after entering a CDKey need to get the updated Installer, available through the developer's site. It's a Tiger-specific issue that your CD version of the installer can't fix, so a separate installer app was made that functions properly. Hope this helps.

Quits on 10.4 "Tiger" after entering an original cd-key.
I installled UT2004 and updated it, but i open the app and it gets to the splash screen and then it quits...please i really need help...i love UT but i wanna play!
I upgraded to the latest version and now I can't access any servers or, for that matter, game types... which has basically incapacitated the game. wonderful, time to kill time troubleshooting...
There is no complete demo that is a Universal Binary. Check the Related Links section of the download page for the link to the UB file for the full version.
There may be something wrong with my mac or your site, but I could not download the above program, and many others.
They all appeared with an error sign.
Would appreciate any advice.
Thanks

Yup... seems the MacSoft download site is getting hammered into non-existence. On MacGameFiles.com, it's the same mirror. They really should have gotten it mirrored a few places first - especially since this is a no-DVD patch :/

This is the kind of thing that releasing a .torrent of would make so much easier.
Anyone knows if this game will run 64 bit if g5 present? I hear it will ship on amd 64 platform yet no clue about PPC G5...
I want to buy the game but if they don't pay enough respect to my mac hardware, I won't.

THe '64 Bit-ness' of an application doesn't effect its speed. Actually, the 64-bit version of UT2k4 ran slower than the default 32-bit on Athlon64's. The G5 processor is backwards compatible anyway, not to mention the OS X isn't fully 64-bit yet, anyway.
Crashes approx. every 40 seconds. PB 1,25 / 1 GB / OS X 10.3.3 7B24
Did anybody of you have the same problems with this built of Mac OS X?
Performance and gameplay is OK, though I like Halo more. I still wonder why they announced UT2K4 to be more optimized for G4, more stable and faster...

I presume you are using a beta of 10.3.3 as the current public release is 10.3.2?
