Things you don't want them to know about you. But how safe is that data that defines you? How secure is your social security number? Your passwords to certain websites? In other words... ...stuff you just don't want anyone to know about you -- or who you are! Yet, it's hard to make sure no one else can "accidentally" discover something that's none of their business when you're away from your computer. At more...

I do not know why but it never seems to give me a complete back up of my data base. I have tried to reach the dev throught the support form but no reply! After installing the lastest update, I found that my hole data base was all messed up! everything was erased or not in the right place, Oh, what to do, Well I went back to the webpage and submitted the support form again 45 days still no answer! this program is Junk, I mean I have never been able to back up my database with out having to go to the application supprt folder and do it my self! Hey dev, get a clue, where is the tech, support! Wake up!!!! I would tell people to try it but be careful, I would personal and will try something else hopefully a little more stable, Of couse this is just my option, but everyone has one. Hopefully my exp. will help someone not have the same!

To developer :

Hello there.

Seems to be a VERY VERY promising app, though a little slow (and with sometimes strange "on screen" behaviour, where it doesn't act like in the OS - for example while clicking on a card icone's name to rename it, you somewhat don't see the whole name, as if it was buggy, and it doesn't feel OSX-like. Cards seem to have a problem showing long names too).

Anyway , it DOES look more than promising, BUT, if you mind me telling you this, it is a VERY BAD IDEA that you ask people to register to your forum in order to submit feedback (request, bug report and so on).
I'm sorry, but I wouldn't have neither the time nor the will to manage a registration for every forum of every developer I'd like to say something to; that is, until I've bought their product.
Also, it seems that the email you provide for info is no longer working.

IMHO, it's no wonder why you just have 4 feedback topics on your forum in the last 2 months…
Come on ! Your work and soft deserve better than that, so give it a shot !
I'm sure more people will give you feedback and help you provide a soft closer to their needs, and buy it and talk about it !

Anyway, I did have a feature request :
Would it be possible to implement a "mail" field similar to the "URL" field, with a "mail to" button instead of the "go" button we can find near it ? That would be really great.
That's the only thing I found missing on your app, with speed improvement, that can be quite of an issue sometimes (and a french localisation, but I can understand why this one's not on top of the list !).

Anyway, keep up the great work, for that software is the closest to my need that I've seen around. It really is a cool app and I will watch it closely.

Sorry for my wavering english, and my apologises for that long comment.

Two words :: simply wonderful. Very powerful and great to store all kinds of important information not just passwords or serials. After having used it for about a month I bought myself a license - well worth the money. Speed could be improved, but otherwise a great program. This deserves a lot more recognition than it currently gets!!

If I am wrong I stand corrected but after a quick review of the description and the screenshots this seems like just anotherprotected database capable of being customized to hold the stuff in Apple's address book as well as passwords and personal info. It mentions some Windows compatibility but as a Mac user, that is not my primary concern. Nothing really wrong with this product so long as you don't want to use the information anywhere elso on your Mac, such as in Office documents, email, you web browser etc. But if you do, it looks like you back to the old copy/paste routine. Thanks but I'll stick to a special password database for critical stuff, such as Pastor, which is free; Keychain (Apple) for Internet access (integrates with Safari) and Entourage for my address book, which integrates with my Office documents and easily exports to Apple's Address Book to integrate everywhere else.

I have given it generally an average rating because as an initial review I have to give it a rating. It seems fairly priced as a secure database and I see no immediate screams about stability so I have given it the benefit of the doubt as better than average in these areas.

JimW - thanks for the review. Yes - the customization and multi-media support is what sets this product apart from the others. Not only that but our plans for it in the future.

There is no Windows compatibility and I know we don't mention that.

Also with version 1.2 we now bring AppleScripting capability which does let you integrate the information with any other app that also supports AppleScript.

One of the biggest reasons for owning a Mac is the user interface. Otherwise one could just use a Linux machine. Sure you can use KeyChain, Pastor, BBedit, etc... - but then you're dealing with a mishmash of file formats, data, etc...

I'd also like to point out - MindFortress is not a replacement for AddressBook, but it is for stickies. We do support importing AddressBook information in case you want to easily organize that sort of data for other purposes (its been asked for by our users), but that again is not its primary purpose.

There are no Ratings for this App yet.
