ResFool is a resource editor that supports full ResEdit template support. Use one of the 100 included templates to edit existing resource types. If those aren't enough for you, you can construct your own using 94 template types, or use one made by other people in the active Macintosh developer community. The possibilities for editing binary data in a semantically enriched environment are endless. With support for nested lists, skip fields, arbitrarily aligned data, strings, numerics and more, ResFool templates allow for editing a diverse range of data.

This software is simple to use, and does exactly what it says.

If you want to develop a REALbasic application that is AppleScript scriptable, this is a must have tool. I've tested it with RB 5.5.5, RB 2006 r2, and RB 2006 r3, and it worked like a champ with every version.

This application is only $20, and a competitor's product (Resorcerer) that does about the same thing is $249!!

I had a minor, self inflicted use problem, and the developer was very helpful, and responsive.

Excellent application, works just as ResEdit, but in OS X. Just solved my problem and has a fair and proper price (not like others than are really expensive, more than 200 u.s. dollars by a little app, they're really nuts !!).

This program worked just fine for me. It also had absolutely marvelous support from the developer. I wrote him with some questions about some technical matters I didn't know how to handle. He replied promptly and even went out of his way to find me some additional resources I needed. I couldn't ask for much more than that.

Great app that gets better because the developer is very good about fixing bugs and adding features. Well worth the price.

I haven't used this yet, but according to the documentation, this editor also supports many of the template extensions introduced by Resorcerer, which are necessary to edit many binary resources introduced during the OS 8/9 era. I could have used this years ago, before I shelled out cash for a Carbon upgrade of Resorcerer, which has started to wither on the vine during the OS X era.
