BurnX Free makes it very easy to burn CD's with multiple sessions in an hybrid format for compatibility with other platforms.
It lets you burn a CD by dragging and droping files or folders to the main window, you can use sessions so multiple burns can be done in the same disc. It also has the ability to erase a CD-RW.
BurnX was simple to install & works perfectly! I'm downright ecstatic because I like to move files back & forth between my new iMac & my old Windows PC - which is in a different room - the 2 are not connected. I discovered to my chagrin that the Mac needed special software to make a CD reusable.
I DID have a heckkuva time doing a successful download but finally achieved it through good ole Tucows. Once downloaded, it was a cinch to install.
Any possibility of distributing this as a .dmg file instead of .sit?

Any chance to implement a DVD multisession burning?

Hi, the problem is with the Disc Recording Framework provided by Apple to its developers that cannot handle multisession DVDs.
Best Regards.

Well... i think it is too easy to overburn...
As i cannot see how much data is to be burned, it is possible to accidentally put a 900mb file on the disk, without knowing it. until the disc is full during burning of course.
otherwise: great app, but having to 'get info' in the finder and to calculate the total size of all the folders before burning is annoying.
keep up the good work!

Lovely for quickly erasing CD-RWs. Nearly twice as fast as Toast!

This has got to be one of the best softwares I've ever downloaded at this site! I've burned several discs now and not one has "coaster"-ized and I'm useing the notorious Que!USB burner. The CD's are even more readable than the ones I've burned using an old verion (OS9) of Toast. I am eternal grateful for the developer's work on this app.
Many Thanks!!

Works perfect for me! I have no need for a full blown MP3/DVD/SVCD... suite. Just erasing RWs and burning CDs and DVDs. And it's much faster than Apple's Burn, 'cause it doesn't copy everything before burning.
If total size of the files slected for burning is added, I'll be totally happy with it.
Keep it up!

Simple to use, yet powerful. Works like a charm and it's FREE.
