The downloaded patcher requires Rosetta!
What's up with that?
At least it could be Universal!

Also, why is the Frozen Throne application not Universal when the Warcraft III.app is?

the separate download for OSX Universal binary for those of you who haven't updated in awhile is call the "universal patch" ands updates any 1.x.x to 1.2.1a
it is available as an anonymous FTP download: open terminal
type "ftp" -enter-
type "open" -enter-
type "ftp.blizzard.com" -enter-
user name is "anonymous"
password is your email or any email
type "get /pub/wc3x/patches/Mac/War3TFT_121a_English.bin"
there is no progress bar and this will take approx 15mins to download and the file will be placed in your home folder or file system root, spotlight will show you where it is

extract the update file from the .bin
and double click the updater, let it run and it when done press ok, warcraft3TFT will open automatically

yes... I'm sure this game sold very well as a PPC app... you'd think it would be in Blizzard's best interests to re-release as a PPC app... heck, I'd even pay for a new storyline 'game' -- "WCIII, The Universal struggle" (there's a game title... ) that included a intel patch.

I just wonder; when will Mac gamers get the awesome 3D sound that Windows gamers enjoy in Blizzard's and other companies games? It's quite a big difference than the "standard" stereo that's used in most Mac games.

i download the pach but i dont know how to instal i was on the blizzard web but i cant find it the ansver pls help me

I had no problems downloading the stand-alone installer. I did, however have problems with the installer quitting with an error message stating BNUpdate finds no installed game app etc. . Since the installer is self-starting, and has no instructions, it took me a while to figure out that dragging the installer into the WarCraft folder was the procedure to succesfully install the update.

If you are having problems with the .bin download file, try updating Warcraft III using Battle.net from within the game. Just click the Battle.net button and the latest Warcraft III update will start downloading. When the download is complete, the update will be installed automatically.
