Cheetah3D is a lean, fast, and elegant 3D modeling, rendering, and animation package with an easy learning curve. It was written from ground up in Cocoa and offers many powerful tools like subdivision surface modelling, joint based character animation system, morph targets, UV unwrapping, texture painting, PDF import, HDRI, radiosity, renderings, etc.
The possibility to extend Cheetah3D with JavaScripts and support for many common file formats rounds out its feature set.

I've used Cheetah3D for about 10 hours now and am particularly impressed that, even with the complex relationships that it must be maintaining between objects, 'Undo' has never given an unexpected result and the thing has never raised an exception or crashed. The design must be very well thought out.
Last year I spent some time looking into 3D apps. I wanted something to get me into 3D. I looked at Strata, Cinema4D and a couple of others but to be honest the prices put me off. Somehow I stumbled across Cheetah3D, which seemed to tick all the boxes, it's mac, it's cheap and probably most importantly it does one hell of a job. A quick look in the gallery showed me what I wanted to see, I downloaded the demo and 20 minutes later I made the purchase. Since that day I've never looked back. Cheetah3D does everything I want it to do and then some. If you're looking for an excellent 3D package for Mac at a good price, stop looking, you've found it!
AC3D os only a modeler Cheetah3D is a complete 3D App ...

Very impressive piece of software.
But please do add a version number to the downloadable .dmg-files.
Like: "Cheetah3D_2.4.1.dmg" a not "Cheetah3D.dmg"
Plus: IMHO the toolbar icons in Cheetah3D are not very professional looking and way too colorful.
[Version 2.4.1]

This is a very impressive application. Reminds me of Maya or Rhino. Only wishlist item would be support of the STEP or IGES file format.

Very good program for vizualizing various 3d formats, very quick too. Should addd the option to auto spin an object in all axis in a "automatic vizualization" mode. Very nice developpers responded to my feedback about a bug very fast and sent me an updated version within 2 days.
Hi all, this prog has a cool interface, and it doesnt look that hard compared to other programs like Blender and such, but i am in the search for a good program to render game data, such as cars from Ford Racing or Soldiers from BF1942, i have downloaded alot of these programs, but i cant import those kind of files, does anyone know a good program for it ? it doesnt have to be for mac specific, but else VPC gets so slow :/ mail me anytime ! info@darkraver.net cheers !
I don't quite see what you're getting at?
Silo has always been dedicated to all of it's user base, very quick to respond on their forums, if the other users don't get there first, and there's not been any money payed for any updates for mac users so far... The mac version's only recently fallen behind, and that's because they work on PC and they're wokring on a new major release that NO-ONE has paid for, and neither version, PC of mac, has been released in a later than beta version.

Not sure if it is because I am from South East Asia. Just hope the developer can open up access to everyone.
