DockDockDock allows you to switch between multiple Dock item settings from menu extra.
Seems that since Tiger, the docks don't appear in the menu anymore. I tried to contact the develloper but can't read japonese :)
Hope someone, let him know... it's really a great piece of software that would be nice to see in Tiger.
This seems like a good app., but I can't figure out how to get the dock names to appear in the menu as per the screenshot; I have to go into preferences to do it. If I could figure this out (or if someone could tell me), it would be just what I was looking for...
Are you using Tiger... It seems that since Tiger the names of the dock have disapeared... Anyway, seeems it has for me.... let me know.
What a GREAT piece of software! Thank you!
(I figured it out without the Englich read me...I was the one who posted below)
Very helpful...the READ ME is in Japanese...
Em, this is in English for me?
Btw, it's great! Nice features for the dock :D
The premise is good and perhaps there are features that would make it better. I dont understand the method of selecting another dock set.
A big problem is that this blows away all my default Dock settings - app posittions etc. So I would give negative feedback for that - but maybe there is some way to prevent that.
Otherwise a good free utlity.
hey wrong argument guys: the developper is not lazy, translating a software's doc of a is a pain in ****. i'm a freeware translator and actually translate only about 3 docs out of 5, i can't do better, like every other freeware translator, i do it for FREE.
so keep in mind that the developper brings this to you in YOUR language for your convenience and does this for FREE.
appart of that it is true that a mac software ought to be usable for it's main purpose WITHOUT documentation. if it does not then complain about the interface.
listen up: lots of Mac users RTFM (Read The Freaking Manual... and get castigated if they haven't read it when they post stupid remarks such as "why does this thing not do what it says?".
further, many people post complaints about apps that have no documentation or if the documentation is in only one language (whatever, perhaps foreign to a given user).
and MU is an English-speaking site, and i'd bet that at least 75% of the users here speak English, this app is a 3.0 release and has no English (nor any other language than Japanese) documentation?
feh... lazy developer.
DockDockDock works very well, even if you don't understand Japanese. Which real Mac user reads the manual anyway ? No japanese is visible within the software.
Launch DockDockDock (a menu appears). From this menu open preferences (a window appears). In this window, name you current dock, create a new Dock, set its own preferences (position, effect...), fill it with your applications, and close the pref window. Activate you new dock with the DockDockDock menu. This menu also launches the application form all existing docks.
The only problem with DockDockDock is when you reactivate the original dock, it's size is set to minimum, so all your icons are small.
Try LunchMenu from the same site. A completely customizable menu.
great... the ReadMe is in Japanese... for this alone i have panned the app.
