Jiggler is a little freeware utility that jiggles your mouse periodically, preventing sleep and screensavers from interrupting the jobs your computer is doing. No more having to change your sleep and screensaver delays back and forth in System Preferences -- just jiggle!
I have my screen set to demand my password when the MBP goes to sleep and is awakended so Jiggler saves me a ton of time and aggravation by keeping the screen active. Also use it on my home Mac.
I downloaded Jiggler a few weeks ago, and just used it for the first time this evening. I used it to keep my laptop from dimming the screen while I was watching a movie (I have to re-register for Quicktime Pro after my laptop had a little bit of a misunderstanding with me, and I haven't done that yet, so I was having to watch in Fit to Screen sizing), and it worked like a dream.
However, if I were to improve on this app, I would make the Jiggler active icon a bit smaller and transparent, and include a way to move it out of the center of the screen. Since it's easily disabled, though, it isn't a big deal.
Also, the app is free, so it's not like a small annoyance is worth crying over. =p Thanks for the app!
Wow, I had version 0.1 and these updates are nice. I'd forgotten about jiggler, and should have used it recently when I was burning DVD projects but wanted my laptop to sleep when I wasn't doing that. Much easier than going back and forth from Energy Saver. I think my powerbook fell asleep while running DiskWarrior the other day. Not good. Glad to be reminded and get the update.
Oh, and free is a gift, thanks.

I use this when I want to keep an eye on the status of large downloads over a flaky dialup line. Excellent application at a bargain price.

"Why use this? Why don't you just change your energy saver settings?"
Jiggler is easier. Just because you don't want it to sleep right at that moment (Downloading, exhibiting photos/videos) doesn't mean you want it to never sleep again.

I just set my computer to never sleep, then set a corner for "never activate screen saver"

Why use Exposé? Why don't you just shrink and drag around all your windows?
