Which brings me to the most impressive feature: the support. The latest (beta) version kept quitting on me. I sent the developer an email with my data, preferences, and crash log files and just a couple of hours later they sent me a link to a fixed version! On a Saturday, no less. Incredible response.
Thanks Aetherial!

The image preview of book covers can be a bit jumpy, but, like iTunes you can paste in any image you wish in place of those found through the Quickfill db searches.
ISBN capture via iSight on Macbooks and MacBook Pros necessitates a good light exposure, but once you get a good set up, scanning in books is quite fast.
The strength of the program is its straightforward simplicity. As stated, its for books, or any work that has basic bibliographic information. The interface feels Apple-like enough, and perhaps this is its other strength: its not trying too hard to render textures, features, animations, or anything else. Books is a reliable db for your books, has a minimal learning curve, is open source, and deserves credit and consideration for being so advanced outside of commercial development. Good spare code @ 15Mb; there's not a useless feature in the setup, its all useful, and so far, it all works.
A solid addition for academics, students, or any user looking to document and organize a decent library.

I believe the QuickFill option would work a lot faster if one didn't have to chose between Amazon US/Amazon FR/Amazon DE... because in the end it's gonna be a list and you'll have to search through it to find the correct version you want to add OR it's gonna have no results and you have to change the database and search one more time... whereas if all the databases were searched at the same time then you'd know when to give up when you have no results.
The "fetching data for book - please be patient_ sometimes stays stuck for more than 1 minute which seemed odd to me.
I'm using it these days and I'll let you know when I have more to say - great app anyways!!

3.1.10 is in testing and will be released soon. Until that release, I recommend that Tiger users avoid this release for the time being.

But, Quick Fill will not work recently. When I use Quick Fill and search a book, if I choose "Amazon JP(ECS4)",the result is always zero.
Probably, I think this trouble was caused by Amazon.co.jp API specification change since Oct 26.
Could you update Books about Amazon JP API change?

Unfortunately it kept crashing everytime I tried going online to gather data.

I want to help by reporting a bug in the current beta.
Just ignore it if it is a known issue.
I could not find anything on this blog.
Sorting to the Title or name of the author is very strange. I was not able to find out to what it actually sorts.

1. What language are you using this in? English, or something else?
2. What's the odd sorting behavior? Can you send me a description to books@aetherial.net ?
Thanks!
