For everyone who wants to listen to TFMX songs on the PowerPC based Mac...

This player is excellent. Unfortunately the Web-site disappeared, however, I found the v 0.4.4 here:

-Scroll to the bottom, click "Fading Twilight - Excerpt twelve"
Click UTILS -> MAC -> OSX -> COCOMODX.DMG

-You better download it now, it took me a **VERY** long time to find it, and there might only be this copy available.
Note: There are some Turrican 2 TFMX-files that are not playable, but it works with the TFMX files found here:

Funny, the links disappeared... I'll try again. First link, where you click "Excerpt twelve":

Second link, which points to the TFMX-files that work:

Won't run on Mac OS X Lion, which no longer supports PowerPC apps. Alternatives?

Yes, kick Apple into the a** for killing Rosetta/PPC-support in 10.7 Lion … :(

But you can give MilkyTracker a try, it's an Universal app (PPC + intel).

CocoModX was based on the MilkyTracker library so for now it's the best choice on Lion as far as I know.

Reply to myself: "Schism Tracker" is newer than MilkyTracker on Mac OS X and sounds really great (first impression: better than CocoModX and MilkyTracker): http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/33228/schism-tracker

I found out why I had problems getting CocoModX to play my songs.
I had an old playlist, the files had moved to a different path (I don't remember that I did that, but I probably did), so whenever I dragged a file onto the playlist, it thought that I already had that file in the library, and the library one was picked.
Now... Since the files had moved, it could not find the files, so if you get a big red X in the left side, trash you playlist, and create a new one.
Also try turning off automatic switch, and set the player to for instance MikMod. After I did all this, it started playing. =)
The app works great, however, I still have to figure out how to get the TFMX playing.

Glad to see that it is now working.
To play TFMX songs you need to copy BOTH files into the same directory and then add one fiel to the playlist. If you using the music-folder option from CocoModX yoh have to add both tfmx files into the playlist.

Unfortunately it seems I can't get it to play. I used CocoModX for a while, but when I upgraded to this version, it seems it won't play any of my MOD files anymore. It just goes "quack" each time I try playing a file... :/
-I believe this is a glitch in the release.
I'm using Mac OS 10.3.9 btw.
I'm looking forward to playing TFMX files!!! =)

Again. Please Email your problems.
In your case take a look at the output preferences and activate the auto switch option.
If this does not work, take a look at the status line. Which message appears there? And/or mail me one of your songs.
