As has been noted, it is not for character animation. However, it handles some things very quickly, and can handle large files. Plug-in companies like Konkeptoine, NorthernLights and others have kept this package alive. And for LightWave bashers, let's not forget that the original developers of Electric Image now work at NewTek!
Let's hope this package stays alive, as it does offer some nice texturing plug-ins, and enough tricks to raw speed to do a lot of good work. Its renders are very nice as well. But until near-real-time rendering previews are implemented (there are several options for LW) some tasks are still very tedious.
Also, it would be nice if TreeStorm would support v6.6, but for now this is not the case.
Love you EIAS!

EUI seems to be like C4D, LW, and MAYA wrapped in one, lots on offer for a cheap price. But doesn't quite hit the mark, a bit like Carrara.
My advice - Cinema4D
