I should also add that I liked SFDP better than Desktastic, which I found too fussy to bother with, unless I was going to be using it every day. The simplicity of SFDP is it's strong suit.

Everything worked more or less as stated except I could not get the erase screen command to work. Using the mouse with the botton held down and drawing a box around whatever was wanted erased was a good work around, however. When I tried to see how small I could get the circle, I lost the ability to use the cirlce and rectangle, even when I triend to increase the size again. I quit and relaunced, and it was fine. Control-Q was not a problem for me, though using the standard Cmd-Q in a future release might be best. I liked not having a menu bar. It's for fun and it's free.

This app isn't Mac-like because I have no way of making it Mac-like. To write this, I used a language called METALBasic. (Yeah, BASIC, I know.) It has no way of making a GUI that looks like Aqua, and doesn't let me handle window events properly, so making an interface will work even less well.

I use Control-Q rather than Command-Q because METAL apps pick up keystrokes even if you are in a different application. If I used Command-Q and you pressed that even if you were in a different application, SFDP would quit. That's why I don't use Command-Q.

I will add a decent interface in the next version. I wrote some code to handle basic window events recently, and I think I can stick it in this.

I guess it's my fault that this app needs you to read the Read Me first. I'll be wiser next time and make it easier. Sorry if I sounded snappy before. I was having a bad day.

man, you sound like a broken record. ok, how about the fact that your app behaves in ways that are very unintuitive and downright un-Mac-like?

it should be a wakeup call to you that the people who bothered to post in this thread had the same things to complain about. but no, you insist that your way of doing things is better. since when is Command-Q not a valid command? i know of no other app that does not understand Command-Q.

If you had read the read me, you would know that to quit you press Control-Q rather than Command-Q.

I will try to work on getting the contextual menu to work, although the language I am using doesn't support it directly.

I called this version 1.5 because I had released 1.0 a few months ago and this version is ten times as good. The last version was worse than this one.

and yet the fact remains that this app requires force-quits... I can see the message in the SFDP Dock icon, "Application Not Responding" when I try to quit it and thus must force-quit it... this app just is not as far along as a version number 1.5 would indicate.

Some of you have not bothered to read the file called "Read Me or Die." It is called this for a reason. This app does not show a window. It is not spyware.

>>MacUpdate ALWAYS had this app listed as OS X only.

Mac Update listed this app as OS X only as of this morning. Yesterday it was 8.6 with CarbonLib and up, which it was not, probably because of a mistake on my part.

Please, do developers a favor and read the file that they call "Read Me." It's called that for a reason. If you had read the read me, you would have known that this application shows no window and has no menu bar.

Do you even bother to test your software on another computer. This app does nothing but lock up with no window, no menu, no nothing. I'm half inclined to think its some kind of scam to try & stick spyware on my HD or something.

No offence but this isnt Stupidly Funny, its just a Stupid piece of... (fill in the blank).
