Spirographer is an illustration tool that allows you to draw virtual spirograph star-like shapes.
Didn't test it, but I agree with previous comments : there are several free Spiro clones...
BTW, I never saw one which has BOTH these features :
- good GUI, customize everything
- can inside "arbitrary" curves, not just circle-in-circle (the plastic analogue was called "super-spirograph").
I programmed such thing in Basic for MacOS 9 several years ago. It worked nice, but was using an obsolescent Basic compiler + dirty system calls, so the code is now dead. I ported part of it to Cocoa but never finished it (working, but no super-spirograph, not very well written since I wanted to learn ObjC; highly based on the "sketch" example provided by Apple, so it can draw several "spirographs" on a page and add lines. This remained in "alpha" stage and I don't plan to spend time improving it.
However, if someone finds interest in it, I'll provide the codes (use my e-mail, it's a secondary adress but a real one).
do a search here at MacUpdate, use keyword "spiro" and you will find two other apps that do pretty much what this does (or better) for *FREE*
It's like a spirograph! That's it. Although it's fairly fun to play with, it's quite limited in what you can do... the area you draw in is quite small, the interface for chaning things is very limited... and buying an actual spirograph is probably less than the $20 asked for this program!
If you're a huge fan of the spirograph, give it a looking. But, overall, I'm less than impressed.
