A pity, really. Library 1 was a terrific book-cataloging app. Library 2 added in support for games, DVDs and the like - it was a promising evolution of the product. But it also added bugs that continued releases just couldn't seem to squash - gone was the 'just works' feel of v1. And now they've dropped everything for their $40 Delicious Library. Thanks, but no thanks. All I wanted was something that 'just works' with the latest OS.
I suspect I'm not the only user that has second thoughts about having bought a license for now-unsupported and still-broken software.

"Wil Shipley said...
There is no code shared between Chronopath Library and Delicious Library. There is no relationship between our companies. Andrew K. was a consultant on our project early on, but the code is all ours. Since Andrew is continuing to develop Chronopath Library, I think it would be incorrect to call our program an upgrade of his. We certainly didn't see any of the money you gave Andrew in the past for his software, and we in fact paid him some of our money to consult on our project, so you'll understand that we didn't feel obligated to make our upgrade price too sweet for someone else's customers."
I guess Chronopath decided to drop the ball (and its customers) on their own. Wish they would have said something...

Unlike Books it does have separate areas for Music, Games, and Movies, which is great if you want to keep everything in one file. It also has something called bookmarks to mark certain pages for future reference as important.
FYI-Regarding their Bar Code Scanner: At MacWorld, FileMaker was demoing scanning ISBN numbers from a book into a Filemaker Database with a Palm. I'm not so sure you need a special $150 device to do it if you already have a PDA. It is something you might want to research.

I would need two features added. They need a better source for autofill based on ISBN, and they need Excel import. Text file import is not good enough. Maybe a future release will tempt me.

I need an organizer for books and research papers in PDF format.
It supports Asian characters and is only 10 US$ which I would pay if it was more flexible.
