I have found a small bug in this program. If you are trying to get a file with a very long name, for example:

title_of_this_song_yadda_yadda_yadda.......yadda_1.mp3

...the last letters will be removed. No big deal, it seems. But if you try to get this file as well:

title_of_this_song_yadda_yadda_yadda.......yadda_2.mp3

Envoy will give an error message, saying the download is already complete. Seeing only the part of the filename that remains, the program will "think" it is the same file.

While the bug is not fixed, it is easy to work around this bug: name the file to something else when you put it on the download queue, or edit it after it is in the queue.

Still, a very useful app.

I had been trying for DAYS to update my system (10.2 to 10.2.8), it was a ≈90MB file. I always lost the connection before getting the whole file. Then I tried Envoy - damn, this thing works! Flawless file transfer resumes! Now I'm running 10.2.8, yay!

As others suggested, there is room for improvement (save username/password for private sites). But for now I can say this: it works. If you are on dial-up, it is indeed a must-have.

Absolutely a must-have for every downloader. You can simply dragndrop a broken download fromout Safari's/ IE's/ Netscape's download-manager onto Envoy's Queue window and resume/start. Works great.

Unlike Monica this application does not allow you to save a username and password for access into a private site.

For this reason alone its useless! Too bad, I was looking for an alternative to Monica which is very crash prone!

As to me, I like this program more than Speed Download. Even the d/l speed here is higher than in SD!!! :-) And it's more comfortable!
Maybe it's funny, but it's true (for my iMac G4 800)... :-)

For us OS9'ers this rocks limewire. The FTP and HTTP support are just an added bonus.

Phil lets see your great programs! There are a lot of great programs made with REALbasic. You sound like a jealous programmer who has nothing better to do than whine at sites like this. Put up or shut up!

OS X users, just use Speed Download! Much more efficient.

Cute, but absolutely no added value. Definitely not worth the price. Doesn't deliver anything new or exciting.

The built-in Gnutella support makes it a worthy alternative to other clients.
