I too experience the "unexpected quitting" after inputting a valid IP address under Mac v10.2.8 and iTunes 4.1

It crashes for me as well as soon as I hit connect. I'm running a preview release of Panther, but as the 10.2.8 user was seeing this too i doubt that's related... pretty unusable for me at this point.

I fail to see why this utility, or others like it, is exploiting Apple's great new service. Theirs is directed at getting currently available music into the hands, or hard drives and iPodlings, of a public eager to download desired tunes without having to buy a whole album to get them. I will be among them.

My use is to share with a cross-continent cousin old stuff, MP3s we have created from analog sources. Neither of us are public broadcasters (iTunes limit of up to 5 clients at a time was thought through: fair use). Our alternative would be burning our home-brew MP3s onto CDs and snail mailing them to each other. Now, by exchanging our personal IPs and passwords, we save the postage.

I am about to figure out how to leave my Mac on all night and set playlists to stream from MP3.com favourite artists so they get paid.

Great little app.
I do wish that I could adjust the relative sizes of the 2 windows.
I wish the contents in upper window could be sorted on any of the column headers.

RE: "Why do people have to exploit such a good concept made by apple?"

Maybe we should be asking why the record lables have to exploit us? Doesnt it strike you as odd that the proce of CD's has not gone down although theyre cheaper to make? I'd like nothing more than to see the major lables fall apart and if I can help do it I'm glad to. I dont mind paying a fair price for a fait product, but I dont much like being taken advantage of and thats whats happening.

I dont understand why you guys are against this software in the first place, it has nothing to do with iTunes or MacUpdate.Com. The worst that can haappen is that Apple would put measures into place to prevent it from working in iTunes 5. Its not like theyre liable or the record companies are going to make apple discontinue iTunes.

Geez... if you guys are such big fans of licensing everything why dont you switch to Windows or something.
