Nuku is a personal Japanese tutor, teaching you the two native Japanese writing systems, hiragana and katakana. It features both these systems, all three main romanization systems and methods of selecting what to learn. It was written to aid me in my Japanese studies.
What's New
Version 1.5.1 fixes the following:
Swedish and Japanese localization by Patrik Skulski and Kim Ahlström
Pull in a fixed set of buttons by Michael Simmons that more resemble the original OS9 look
Added a localized formatter to the percent correct field
Changed the shortcuts for switching between hiragana and katakana
I wanted to suggest that you add another learning mode where you have to think the other way round: So that Nuku asks for the syllable 'to', for example, and you have to find the hiragana/katakana と/ト in the list...
That way, the software would be more effectiv^^
Fantastic program! Very thorough and easy to follow! It runs smoothly and seems to show no signs of crashing!
I've learned more about the Japanese language through this program than I have through any books I have encountered. Congratulations on a job well done! ^^
Have you considered updating it with OS 10.4 (Tiger) and the G5 engine in mind? Possibly expand the program further? Add lessons on kanji?

Thank you for this program. Exactly what I was looking for. It will make learning Japanese a little easier. With Nuku's help, I'll be speaking Japanese in no time. Thanks again.
