CoooL is the Cocoa openoffice.org Launcher. It provides a launcher panel with easy drag-and-drop access to the OpenOffice.org applications. There is also Finder integration allowing for double-click opening of OpenOffice.org files.

What's New

Version 1.0.2 adds the following:

Each of the main apps can be launched from the openoffice.org menu and with a hot key
Each of the main apps can be launched from the Dock menu
Modified the program to run openoffice.org in the background after one of the main apps is first launched. CoooL will recognize if OpenOffice.org was launched by another program.
Made the launch panel yet smaller.
Added a warning on Quit (and a preference to turn it off).
CoooL will now terminate OpenOffice.org on Quit; there is a preference to disable this "feature".

This app also works with OOo 2. But you need to enter the path to OOo as follows:
/Applications/OpenOffice.org 2.0.app/Contents/openoffice.org2.0
For me, this is the only way I can open OOo 2 other than via sudo at the command line.
Otherwise, double clicking OOo 2, I get an error message that "/rc" cannot be found. :P
My problem is probably privileges, since I'm logged in via Active Directory authentication (I am in the admin group locally though), which gives me a UID in the millions er something...

Awesome! I just updated ooo1.0.3 to ooo1.1.2 and everything stills works smooth after setting the new path to the correct folder in preferences. I can't believe I didn't come across this helper app earlier! WAY better than the default Start ooo.app. It doesn't feel as crude launching ooo. Clean icon and simple interface. Ooo should include your app with all the future revs. The beauty of open source will shine as collaboration widens. Great job guys!
