osx2x is a small Mac OS X application that lets you control other machines running either an X11 server or a VNC server using your Mac's mouse and keyboard. So if you happen to have a mac and either an X Windows machine or a machine running VNC on your desk you only need to use a single keyboard and mouse! This may sound like a very esoteric thing to need, and you'd be right, but some people have just that need, and thus osx2x was born.

Not working for me (Leopard, 10.5.3). I need extra crypto library installed or what? Please help. Console says:

Same errors happened at my 10.5 environment (i386).

Fourtunately I found the source code, then I made a patch and sent it to the author a week ago.
Normally I should wait that a revised version is released by him, but if you may want to use it very urgently, so I can send the patch or a patched binary by e-mail.

Excellent program, I use it every day to control my work PCs. If the developer could add a Ctrl-Alt-Delete shortcut, I'd be able to unplug my PC keyboard completely!

It's supposed to do it already (Menu Control > Send Ctrl+Alt+Del) but it doesn't work.

I find this program to be a very useful tool. There are a couple of bugs such as the occasional corrupt preferences that prevent the program from starting up and a strange processor hogging issue that is infrequent but annoying.

It's dead simple to setup and use though which I appreciate a lot!

It looks as though it hasn't been updated in awhile, so i'm hoping it will be revamped eventually.

This program worked great a couple of times, and now everytime I launch it the application's icon will just bounce in the dock and will quit responding. I have deleted all traces of it and completely reinstalled it 3 or 4 other times and it still just bounces. When the bugs get worked out then this app will be one of my favorites.

This happened to me, also. I deleted osx2x.plist, and it works now. Just do a search for the file and delete it. I hope this helps.

It's great, I can just move the mouse out of the PB monitor and it appears on the PC-monitor (Win2000) where I can continue to work with the same, just one keyboard on my desk.
