TypeRecorder discreetly monitors and saves every keystroke to a daily file,
regardless of what application is being used. In the event of a power
outage or a system crash, all work can be retrieved from TypeRecorder's
records, regardless of whether the work had been saved.
What's New
Version 2.12: Release notes were unavailable when this listing was updated.
I have Mac OS 10.6.2 and I installed the program, had to restart my MacBook Pro, which is a pain when you have Internet programs working, then I looked for the file. Couldn't find it. Unless someone out there has a suggestion I had a problem and will be throwing away the download and installed very soon.
Thanks,
Maalex7
Maalex77:
The TypeRecorder application typically resides in /Library/StartupItems/TypeRecorder/ directory if you install it for all users on your computer.
The reason it requires a restart is because the TRDaemon runs in the background as a startup item (hence its directory location). No restart, no launch.

If this doesn't work for you, try BackTrack from Modesitt Software . Only $15, and does something TypeRecorderX doesn't: logs the name of the window in which you're typing.

I would like to categorically reject the assertion of the last reviewer (who has evidently posted his review several times under different names, and is most likely one of our competitors).
We pride ourselves on both customer support and the quality of our products. We offer a 5 day, unlimited trial of TypeRecorder. I assure you that the product works exactly as advertised. Please give it a try and if it doesn't work to your satisfaction, contact us. There is no obligation to purchase unless you like it.
The IP addresses are logged with each post to the reviews. The reviews here on this page (for TypeRecorder X) have *very* widely ranging IP addresses and this generally indicates that they were not posted by the same person.

AVOID THIS SOFTWARE. I purchased it ($30), was never able to load it properly and make it work (OS X 10.2 on an iMac), and RampellSoft (the maker) did not respond to my requests for support.
