this program kills it! it's the perfect app for searching for artwork for you. Just listen to your music while you're connected to the internet and you're done!

I jumped the gun with my last comment. Application frequently closes down with iTunes 6, and, despite presets in preferences, it doesn't automatically share album artwork with iTunes 6. I wish Cedric was still around to troubleshoot.

I was searching for something like that, free and stable. It works fine with iTunes 5.

Hello Sofa users. I just discovered this fantastic piece of software. I never knew it was here.

My question is: where do you get Themes for Sofa? I googled and only came up with one theme. Any tips?

Cedric Menard, the french author of this soft, has passed away on the 13th feb 2005. So I think there won't be any further development.
I regret this because Sofa is a very good app. Now, every new iTunes update may alter the stability of this soft. I use iTunes 6.0.4 on OS X 10.3.9 and Sofa quit unexpectedly with no apparent reason.
Otherwise, it is a very powerfull and fully customizable app.

I've just come back to this page after using Sofa for a year to look for any updates as it has continued to serve me well all this time. I am very sorry to hear that Cedric has passed away. I emailed him a couple of times and always received generous support. I suggested he should be pricing Sofa but it was evidently not his style. Sofa remains my player of choice and now at the very least he lives on through my desktop.

Unfortunately, Cedric Menard, the developer of this app, passed away on February 17th (I just found out about this today). It's unclear why--but he will be missed. May he rest in peace.

Since it seems to be possible, once again, to grab track names from streaming radio stations (see Butler), Sofa ought to include this capability in its next version.

Great app, but I would love for the next version to allow Sofa to update iTunes art automatically as it played. I was told that this was possible, but it has never worked for me unless I manually right-click on the displayed art and tell Sofa to "Share with iTunes".
