Pi Calculator uses the Monte Carlo method (random number generation) to calculate the value of pi (3.14...) with statistics. It might help you understand numerical methods or serve as an introduction to scientific computing. You can also save all the data generated as tab delimited text files to import into your favorite spreadsheet.

Based on a faulty assumption: "the real data would be incomprehensible, so let's falsify it instead." The pathetic thing is that the real algorithm for calculating the real pi, isn't too complicated, easily within the grasp of a high school kid. Such a lame excuse for a program, I've never seen offered online before.

You completely missed the point of this program. Calculating Pi is a good demonstration of how Monte Carlo testing methods work because it contains all the basic elements of a Monte Carlo test and the result you get is a number that most people know anyway so it gives you an idea as to the accuracy of the method you can use when calculating things you don't already know. In the future, make sure you understand what you're reviewing before you actually review it.
